Gum Springs Baptist Church , along with the support of Upward, is committed to Connecting Kids to Christ by building them up spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially and teaching them that Every Child Is A Winner. We are committed to presenting a clear and understandable presentation of the Gospel of Christ for young and old alike. We are not only reaching out to the children in the sports program but also realize we are able to reach the adult spectators during our half-time devotion.

Spending time with God is central in all that we do and UPWARD has Godly adult leaders that help our youth to experience this from their own personal experience. We seek to help them to understand that all we do is "Unto the Lord."

Who knows what skills will be developed in a Christian atmosphere that will carry over into adult life. Under the coaching of Christian adults who love kids, the Lord is given freedom to work in powerful ways in these young lives.

The dream of many young girls is to be a cheerleader. UPWARD provides this chance to learn the skills under Christian adults that love young people and want to mentor them to all that God can make them to be. A young girl once told her cheer coach, "I want to do the best I can because I want people to love Jesus because of what they see me do."
